Freddie Mercury, born Farrokh Bulsara on September 5, 1946, in Zanzibar, was a singer, musician, and the lead vocalist of the legendary rock band Queen. Mercury's parents, Bomi and Jer Bulsara, were Parsis, and his father worked as an accountant in the British government. In 1952, his sister Kashmira was born, and in 1954, when Freddie was just 8 years old, he was sent to St. Peter's School in Panchgani, India, 500 miles away from Bombay.

At St. Peter's School, Freddie excelled in various sports, such as hockey, sprinting, and boxing. He also showed a talent for music and painting, constantly making drawings for friends and family.
