Judicial candidates tout experience at forum
MURFREESBORO — A recurring theme at the League of Women Voters candidates forum Thursday night for the new general sessions judge position in Rutherford County was experience. All nine candidates stressed how their particular experiences applied to the position.
The event began with Dr. Laura Blackwell Clark as the moderator. All nine of the candidates were present: Lisa A. Bell, Ben Bennett, Larry D. Brandon, Kirk D. Catron, Andrae P. Crismon, Lisa Ann Eischeid, Thomas D. Frost, Sonya W. Henderson and Jeffery L. Peach.
The position of General Sessions Part IV was created by the Rutherford County Commission in April to serve at the jail to pursue pretrial release and other cases, part of the county’s ongoing efforts to relieve overcrowding there.
